About
Stevie Capozio attended Skidmore
College as an art major. She also attended the Art Student's League in New York
and the Silvermine Guild in Connecticut. Her paintings feature portraiture,
wildlife, and landscapes. Stevie lives in Wilmington N.Y. in the shadow of
Whiteface mountain. Her home and studio "Riverbend" are on the west
branch of the Ausable overlooking the river. It was here that she ran a
girls summer camp in the 1960's. This is when she began experimenting with
enamels. Eventually Stevie invented the " color controller "
that she now uses to repeat an image whenever she wishes By using one of
her many designs, a student can render small successful enamels for personal
enjoyment, or to give as gifts. More experienced enamelists may find it
useful as a production tool. They may quickly use the Naml-On process
to replicate their own designs. The Naml-On " color controller "
is really a great time and energy saver, especally for small enamel
pins and pendants. Stevie would like to share with you the fact that
enameling is a most delightful craft. She has loved it for more than thirty
years.
